The program emphasized the critical role of universities in helping young people develop healthy lifestyle habits and explored opportunities for collaboration to promote a smoke-free culture across higher education institutions. Attendees included Minister of Health Prof. Kemal Memişoğlu, President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Erol Özvar, Governor of Istanbul Davut Gül, Green Crescent President Associate Prof. Mehmet Dinç, as well as university representatives and leaders of civil society organizations.
During the program, Assist. Prof. Nagehan Pakdamar Tüzgen met with representatives from various universities, officials from the Green Crescent, representatives of the Ministry of Health, and civil society organizations to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The consultations focused on joint initiatives to prevent addiction in universities, awareness-raising activities, and the development of sustainable smoke-free campus practices.
In the coming period, REDAM aims to expand the smoke-free campus culture at İbn Haldun University through educational, awareness, and research activities. The Center also plans to strengthen its collaborations with relevant public institutions, universities, and civil society organizations, contributing to the development of healthier future generations.
